More Baby Bubble

Well, well, well, with the help of the raining weather we have been still spending our days cooped up inside being cozy with our baby. Time flies between sleeping in, feeding, changing diapers, and hanging out with the grandmas of course.

Today we went out to the pediatrician for a check up visit. Everything is going well....Max gained 18 oz. in 9 days! that is 2 oz, 64 grams per day (he is now 4.2 kg, or 9 lbs and 4 oz.)! No need to worry if i am feeding him enough I guess!!! His head is now 15 inches around, and he is 22 inches long.

I looooove this little guy!!!!! !!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Chilling at Home

Max is now 11 days old...wow! Still sometimes it does not seem real to me to have this super-cutie in our lives, even though I am cuddling and snuggling with him all the time. Could it be a love-hormone induced daze? Probably...and I am sure that the drugs are doing their part as well...

Except for one doctor visit and 2 10-minute walks up and down the street we have been at home all the time. I almost got cabin fever and wanted to go out a few days ago, but did not...now it is raining and it will rain for a long time, so i guess the outing is poostponed for a while, although we do have a pediatric visit on thursday....i guess we will do that and nothing else though. We will definitely need to practice the going out thing, how to change and breastfeed away from home more efficiently, what to take with us...it is going to be a while, i am sure, until i am very confident in leaving the house with Max for just more than a doctor visit.

Anyways, here are some pics of the last few days at home.

Friday morning, time for another update!

Things are going good here with the new little family. Max is eating practically all the time! he appears to be gaining weight pretty quickly, and is probably back to his birth weight again (all babies lose a little weight after birth, then gain it back by 10 days or so). We took him outside for a short walk in the neighborhood yesterday, with Cris trying out the moby wrap. It seemed to work out pretty well. Even after only 9 days, the little guy is really developing into his own personality. His little face seems to be "maturing" as well. Those pictures from the first 24 hours or so look pretty different now! Anyway, here's a few more pictures from the last couple of days.

starting to settle in...

Well, it's day 3 at home and we're starting to get the hang of this thing! We've obviously got a long way to go, but so far so good!

We took Max to his first doctor visit today (since leaving Sutter), and he got a clean bill of health, yay!

We're going to start opening the doors for short visits in the next few days, so those of you in the area will be able to meet the little dude if you would like to do so. We will be in touch.

In the meantime, here's one of my favorite pics from yesterday:

Ciao!

And then there were three!

We're back at home today, finally! And now we're a family of three...

It was a somewhat rocky road but we made it!

It's going to take a little while to adjust to our new life with Max baby, but we're ready for the road ahead, and looking forward to every step along the way.

We're going to have the house more or less on lockdown for a while until we get settled into the new routine, but will be ready for short visits with friends sooner than later. We certainly appreciate all the offers of help, assistance, etc, and will definitely take you all up on your kindness... as time goes on we'll of course open up for longer visits, etc.

For now, thanks again for the kind words, wishes, and offers of assistance. We look forward to sharing our bundle of joy with all of you!

Lots of love,
Bill, Cris, and Max!

Max Baby is 2 days old... what a trip!

What a long, strange trip it's been!

What an amazing journey we have all been through in the last 48 hours or so. Cristiana and I are now proud parents! And little Max has gone from the comfort and security of his mama's womb to the strange new world of air breathers! Although it was a somewhat rocky road for all of us, the reward at the end was better and more amazing than we could have ever imagined. In just 1 day he has already become more developed and less fetus-like... he is strong like an ox, and this is of course the year of the ox. We are blessed to have this powerful new force in our lives!
