It's 4am and Max was woken for the 2nd time this evening for his next dose of antibiotics. Since Cristiana had a slight fever going into surgery for her cesarean, and Max also had a fever at birth, they've both on antibiotics since the operation. He doesn't much like the thrice daily shots, and the doctors had preferred an I.V. for the little dude, but the staff here was not able to get a good vein for the I.V., and so he gets the shots instead. I am glad that he's not tied to such a device for his medications, but on the other hand, the repeated shots are not fun either. Regardless, here we are at 4am and the little guy is now nursing again - which he has been doing vigorously from his first chance to do so!
But back to the O.R. - here's a pic of "doctor" Bill holding little Max when he is roughly 29 minutes old:
